‘Amphibious warfare: The Desmond Rebellion and the Munster coastline, 1579-1583’
presented by Dr David Edwards. A Senior Lecturer at UCC and a leading historian of early modern Ireland, he is best known for his work on the Butler earls of Ormonde and Richard Boyle, first earl of Cork. He has produced dozens of books, edited collections, book chapters, and articles on the political conflict surrounding the Anglo conquest of Gaelic Ireland. Don’t miss the last talk in this year’s popular lecture series. Chaired by Dr John Borgonovo.
